Melrose-Mindoro posted their closest victory since April 19th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eleva-Strum Cardinals 4-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Emma Severson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madeline Frauenkron, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Miranda Banse was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Melrose-Mindoro's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Eleva-Strum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

As of now, neither Melrose-Mindoro nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
