Basketball Recap: Lake Worth Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ayden Brooks and Braylen Fridia

While it was all tied up 35-35 at halftime, Lake Worth was not quite Springtown's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell to the Springtown Porcupines 64-60. The Bullfrogs just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

Lake Worth's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Braylen Fridia, who went 12 for 23 en route to 30 points, and Ayden Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Brooks a new career-high in steals (four).

Even though they lost, Lake Worth smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Lake Worth's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Springtown, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-18 record.

Lake Worth will challenge Burkburnett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Burkburnett knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Lake Worth likes a good challenge. As for Springtown, they are taking a road trip to take on Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
