Softball Recap: Perry-Lecompton Comes Up Short

Perry-Lecompton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to the Santa Fe Trail Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 on Friday.

Taylor Trimble made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

Even though they lost, Perry-Lecompton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Perry-Lecompton's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Santa Fe Trail, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Perry-Lecompton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against Lawrence Free State on the 31st. As for Santa Fe Trail, they will be playing at home against Prairie View at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Santa Fe Trail's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
