Softball Game Preview: Rockville Rams vs. Poolesville Falcons

The Rockville Rams will face off against the Poolesville Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rockville has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rockville is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Wednesday. They came up short against Blair, falling 16-6.

Molly Rundell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Mae Thompson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Poolesville didn't have quite enough to beat Whitman on Wednesday and fell 15-14. The Falcons have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Poolesville's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Rockville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Rockville skirted past Poolesville 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
