Basketball Recap: Penasco Comes Up Short

Penasco lost against McCurdy back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Penasco Panthers fell just short of the McCurdy Bobcats by a score of 49-46. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Ryan Montoya, who went 9-for-18 on his way to 31 points and seven rebounds for McCurdy. Another player making a difference was Judah Duran, who went 5-for-10 en route to 11 points and five boards.

Penasco's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for McCurdy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Penasco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 45-42 victory against Escalante on the 15th. As for McCurdy, they have also already played their next game, a 30-23 win against Mora on the 15th.
