Northern California high school football rankings: St. Mary's jumps to No. 3 after convincing 45-35 win over De La Salle

No. 2 Folsom hosts No. 7 Del Oro in NorCal matchup Friday.

Suddenly the St. Mary's has an argument.

Could this be the top team in the Sac-Joaquin Section? Might the Rams of Stockton have a shot at the CIF State Open finals against mighty Mater Dei or Bosco?

First thing's first. St. Mary's can't let its 45-35 victory over De La Salle last week in the latest NorCal showdown lead to complacency the rest of the Tri-City Athletic League schedule. And the Rams have to beat, most likely, Folsom in the SJS Division I finals to have a shot at the Open in a race that will include Folsom and Serra.

Folsom has another showdown this week, taking on unbeaten Del Oro in a Sierra Foothill League tilt.
