Volleyball Recap: Charli Cain and Kiyah Sturgeon Secure Win for Lafayette Central Catholic

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Western Boone, Lafayette Central Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against Southwood by a score of 2-0. Lafayette Central Catholic was shut out 2-0 the last time they took on Southwood, so Lafayette Central Catholic was just returning the favor.

Lafayette Central Catholic was led to victory by Kiyah Sturgeon and Charli Cain. Sturgeon had ten digs and three assists, while Cain had ten assists. Those three assists gave Sturgeon a new career-high. Lauren Johnson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lafayette Central Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Southwood, with the defeat, they broke their 11-match winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.

Looking ahead, Lafayette Central Catholic will challenge Indianapolis Lutheran at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Southwood, they will face off against Lawrence North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
