Softball Recap: Waunakee Warriors vs. Evansville Blue Devils

Waunakee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Evansville Blue Devils.

Avary Abercrombie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Avery Schwab was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double.

Waunakee's loss dropped their record down to 5-15-1. As for Evansville, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14-1.

Waunakee will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against DeForest at 5:00 p.m. As for Evansville, they will square off against Delavan-Darien at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Delavan-Darien is on a nine-game streak of home losses, Evansville a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
