Preview: St. John Lutheran Saints vs. HEART HomeSchool
The St. John Lutheran Saints will head out on the road to square off against HEART HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. John Lutheran is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
On Monday, St. John Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Hart 2 Hart Academy, taking the game 41-33. The win was just what St. John Lutheran needed coming off of a 64-41 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cage Patrick, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Disimile, who scored nine points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, HEART HomeSchool scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 97-32 victory over Cornerstone Academy at home. HEART HomeSchool has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
St. John Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for HEART HomeSchool, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-6.
St. John Lutheran came up short against HEART HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 64-59. Can St. John Lutheran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
