Dominick Bombardiere put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Notre Dame is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. Bombardiere was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dominico Minnocci was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Magnolia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 9-3 to Notre Dame. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Eagles have lost by exactly six runs.
Magnolia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finn Loy, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Noah Hood was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Magnolia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Notre Dame, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-9.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Notre Dame has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Magnolia struggles in that department as they've averaged .507. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
