Warren Central had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Vicksburg Gators an 11-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 on Tuesday.

Caden Cole made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other pitching news, Justin Greer looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Lester Martin was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Maddox Lynch was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Warren Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Warren Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Vicksburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season.
