Football Recap: Harrison County Falls Despite Big Games from Hunter Jones and Karsyn Sumpter

Harrison County managed to keep up with Fleming County until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Thorobreds/Fillies lost 50-27 to the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Thorobreds/Fillies in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Harrison County's loss came despite strong showings from Karsyn Sumpter and Hunter Jones. Sumpter rushed for 142 yards and one TD on only 15 carries, while Jones rushed for 130 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. Sumpter's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Harrison County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Fleming County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Harrison County will square off against Bourbon County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fleming County, they will face off against Mason County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
