Basketball Recap: Berthoud Piles Up the Points Against Mountain View

There's no place like home for Berthoud, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Mountain View Mountain Lions 64-24 on Friday. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Berthoud to victory were Avery Pfohl and Sofia Sigg. Pfohl went 8 of 18 en route to 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Sigg went 6 for 13 on her way to 18 points and five boards. Camryn Olivas also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Berthoud was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain View only posted five assists.

Marlene Carrillo and Bella Diaz De Leon certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Carrillo almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Diaz De Leon posted no points.

Berthoud's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Mountain View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Berthoud will head out to challenge Severance at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berthoud is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season. As for Mountain View, they will welcome Timnath at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
