Football Recap: Salt Fork's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Salt Fork dropped to 5-3 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 28-7 to the Oakwood Comets. Having soared to a lofty 48 points in the game before, the Storm couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Oakwood, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2. Considering they have won five games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Oakwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaethan Perez out in front who rushed for 100 yards and one TD, and also picked up 56 receiving yards and one touchdown. Perez showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 61 yards. Oakwood also got a significant boost from Kyler Johnson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 130 yards.

Salt Fork has already played their next contest, a 49-30 defeat against Clifton Central on the 24th. As for Oakwood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-13 victory against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on the 24th.
