Football Recap: Itasca Takes a Loss

Itasca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Hico Tigers and fell 55-7. The Wampus Cats lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 46-28 score last time.

Itasca's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hico, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Itasca will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bosqueville at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so the Wampus Cats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hico, they will head out on the road to challenge Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Buffaloes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
