Basketball Recap: Frontier Academy Comes Up Short

Frontier Academy played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Liberty Common Eagles, falling 81-51. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 54-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Leading Liberty Common to victory were Caiden Castillo and Grayson Clay. Castillo posted 22 points along with six assists and six steals, while Clay went 8 of 11 on his way to 20 points and eight steals. Clay has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Pierce Richardson, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Frontier Academy and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Liberty Common, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Frontier Academy will square off against Platte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty Common, they will take on Wray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Common is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.
