Basketball Recap: Decatur Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Decatur had won eight straight road games dating back to last season and Davin Chandler did his part to make it nine on Thursday. The Decatur Seahawks secured a 52-46 W over the Parkside Rams thanks in part to Chandler, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Purnell, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Decatur's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Parkside, they moved to 7-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Decatur will venture away from home to face off against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Decatur is facing Washington at the right time seeing as Washington is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Parkside, they will host Mardela at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkside will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Mardela will have lost three straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
