Basketball Recap: Smithfield-Selma Spartans vs. Spring Creek Gators
Smithfield-Selma had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to the Spring Creek Gators for the full four quarters, racking up a 93-53 victory. The Spartans pushed the score to 69-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gators had no chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Smithfield-Selma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jimmy Raiford, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards.
