Basketball Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was the 58-49 winner over Walden Grove when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell 53-42 to the Red Wolves on Saturday. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.

Despite the loss, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Noah McKinney, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 12 points. McKinney is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Frankie Lopez, who posted six points.

Walden Grove had a senior duo take command as Mitchel Collins put up 20 points and Alvaro Arvizu had 16 points. Arvizu continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy fell to 5-1. As for Walden Grove, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Amphitheater at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Walden Grove, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-46 loss against ALA - Queen Creek on the 29th.
