Softball Recap: Gulf Buccaneers vs. Pasco Pirates
Gulf lost against Pasco back in March of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 4-2. That's two games in a row now that the Buccaneers have lost by exactly two runs.
Jeovanna Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Alana Delaney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Gulf's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Pasco, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf will venture away from home to square off against Weeki Wachee at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pasco, they will face off against Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
