Basketball Game Preview: Fike Demons vs. West Johnston Wildcats

The Fike Demons will face off against the West Johnston Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Fike is headed into Wednesday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They had to suffer through a 90-54 loss at the hands of East Wake. The game marked the Demons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, West Johnston didn't have too much trouble with Smithfield-Selma on Monday as they won 64-50. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won seven in a row.

West Johnston's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Fike, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Fike strolled past West Johnston when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 73-55. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was West Johnston's Chase Gilmore, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points.
