Baseball Recap: Orangefield Comes Up Short

Orangefield has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.04 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hardin Hornets by a score of 11-10. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cole Sanches stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Rylan Agerton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Orangefield's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Hardin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.

While Orangefield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
