Basketball Recap: Ponderosa Comes Up Short

Ponderosa lost against Castle View back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Ponderosa Mustangs took a blow against the Castle View Sabercats, falling 64-22. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured nine defeats in a row.

Castle View was led to victory by Lizzy Mroz and Kenzie Tosch. Mroz went 8 of 13 en route to 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Tosch went 7 for 15 on her way to 14 points along with seven steals and five assists. Tosch is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Vigilante, who posted four points and seven rebounds.

Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Castle View, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.

Looking ahead, Ponderosa will challenge Douglas County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponderosa is facing Douglas County at the right time seeing as Douglas County is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Castle View, they will venture away from home to take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
