Baseball Recap: Latta's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Latta entered their tilt with Hemingway on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 16-0 shutout. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Seth Minshew was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Latta: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Logan Byrd also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Latta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Latta back to even at 6-6. As for Hemingway, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Latta beat the Tigers by a score of 16-0 later that day.
