Dynamic duo of TJ O'Brien and JP Kerrigan lead Sacred Heart Prep to victory

Recap: Sacred Heart Prep Gators vs. Lincoln Mustangs

The Sacred Heart Prep Gators came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 58-39 victory over Lincoln. Given Sacred Heart Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Lincoln is ranked 557th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sacred Heart Prep was led to victory by TJ O'Brien and JP Kerrigan. O'Brien scored 18 points, while Kerrigan scored 20 points along with three steals. Kerrigan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Wagner, who scored eight points along with eight assists.

Sacred Heart Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart Prep will take on Menlo School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will be playing at home against Galileo at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
