Basketball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Academy Comes Up Short

Thomas Jefferson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 72-41 loss at the hands of the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-62 back in December of 2024.

Edmund Burke Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mark Wasden out in front who posted 14 points and eight rebounds. Rylan Miles was another key player, going 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

Thomas Jefferson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Edmund Burke Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Thomas Jefferson Academy will take on Covenant Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Thomas Jefferson Academy is facing Covenant Academy at the right time seeing as Covenant Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Edmund Burke Academy, they will face off against Westminster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edmund Burke Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season.
