Baseball Recap: Archie Williams Falls Short of San Rafael in the Playoffs

Archie Williams and San Rafael squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Archie Williams had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The Peregrine Falcons' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Archie Williams saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was August Block, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double. The Peregrine Falcons are 2-1 when Block posts two or more runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Another was Joey Altman, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Archie Williams' loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for San Rafael, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-12.
