Basketball Game Preview: Montville Mustangs vs. Wayne Hills Patriots

The Montville Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Wayne Hills Patriots at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Montville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Wayne Hills likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Montville was beaten by Chatham 91-63. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Wayne Hills hadn't done well against Kennedy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Wayne Hills walked away with a 62-53 win over Kennedy. The victory was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Montville fell to 2-1. As for Wayne Hills, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Montville suffered a grim 68-43 defeat to Wayne Hills in their previous matchup back in January of 2019. Can Montville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
