Baseball Recap: Clear Brook Gets the Win

Clear Brook picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They came out on top against the Angleton Wildcats by a score of 5-1.

Owen Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

On the hitting side, Ryan Benavides was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Benavides is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amos Paredes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Clear Brook's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Angleton, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Clear Brook will be taking part in a tournament against Strake Jesuit at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Angleton, they will challenge Alvin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
