Basketball Recap: Parker Comes Up Short

After flying high against Kingman Academy last Wednesday, Parker came back down to earth. The Parker Broncs took a hard 43-27 fall against the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans on Friday. The Broncs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emilee Laugen led the charge by putting up 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Crandall, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points and six rebounds.

Parker now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, their record now sits at 5-1.

Parker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-11 loss against Fountain Hills on the 6th. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 21-17 victory against Horizon Honors on the 6th.
