Baseball Game Preview: Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars vs. Weaver Beavers

The Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Weaver Beavers at 1:45 p.m. on Monday. Kolbe-Cathedral will be strutting in after a victory while Weaver will be coming in after a loss.

It was a proper cat-fight when Kolbe-Cathedral faced off against Bassick on Friday. The Cougars blew past the Lions 14-3. 14 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Joey Mingolello was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Ackeem Bulgin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Weaver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-1 to O'Brien RVT.

Kolbe-Cathedral has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.0 runs this season. As for Weaver, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
