Baseball Recap: Webb Takes a Loss

Webb extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-12. They came up short against the Pacifica Christian Tritons, falling 19-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tritons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in March.

Webb saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alec Kaushal, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

As for Pacifica Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games.

On Pacifica Christian's side, Josiah Miller got the start for Pacifica Christian and what a start it was: he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave Miller a new career-high.

At the plate, Scout Escobedo was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Rowen Gale was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pacifica Christian beat Webb by a score of 15-0 on Friday.
