Softball Recap: Brewer Triumphs

After losing to Fossil Ridge the last time they met, Brewer decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bears walked away with an 11-6 win over the Panthers on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Sylver Orebaugh looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Avery Welch, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Wilson, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Brewer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 10-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Brewer's record now sits at 14-11. As for Fossil Ridge, they moved to 13-5-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Brewer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-1 victory against Saginaw on the 8th. As for Fossil Ridge, they have also already played their next game, a 14-0 defeat against Aledo on the 8th.
