Volleyball Game Preview: Carpinteria Warriors vs. Pioneer Valley Panthers

The Carpinteria Warriors will head out to square off against the Pioneer Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Carpinteria and Hueneme have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Pioneer Valley came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Braves 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pioneer Valley took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-5, 25-9.

The win got Carpinteria back to even at 11-11. As for Pioneer Valley, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-16.

Carpinteria beat Pioneer Valley 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
