            Basketball Recap: Hayfield Hawks vs. Edison Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Hayfield proved they can win big  last Wednesday (they won by 40) and  on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  56-53  win over the Edison Eagles. The  victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on ten straight.
 Hayfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Jaylen Lemon led the charge by  en route to 20  points and six  boards. What's more,  Lemon posted two  assists, the most he's  had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Aaron Mcfarlane, who  on his way to 11 points.

Hayfield's win was  their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 21-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.4 points. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.

Hayfield will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against Lake Braddock  at 6:00  p.m. One thing working in Hayfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55  points  in their last 13 matches. As for Edison, they will welcome South County  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
