Baseball Recap: Eagan Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Eagan and Prior Lake, and Prior Lake kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakers on Monday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lakers earlier this season, when they won 8-2.

Eagan has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Prior Lake, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eagan will host Apple Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Prior Lake, they will square off against Shakopee at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sabers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Lakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
