After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Independence, South was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They secured a 21-17 W over the Golden Valley Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The critical scores for South came from Rodney Williams, Michael Wilson Jr, and David Gonzalez.

When it comes to explaining why Golden Valley lost, don't look at Raymond Valderrama. Despite the final result, he rushed for 161 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
