Volleyball Recap: Dixon Comes Up Short

Dixon came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Natomas Nighthawks, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on March 3rd.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Natomas scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.

Kaden Hutchison paced Dixon's offense, picking up five kills. Hutchison got some help from Brandon Covello and his 12 assists. Russell Crain controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Dixon's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Natomas, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Dixon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against El Camino on the 31st. As for Natomas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin on the 28th.
