Baseball Recap: Etna Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Etna had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Fall River Bulldogs 15-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-0 on Friday.

Emmett Stacher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyle Fowle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Ashton Elam was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Etna kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Etna's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Fall River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15.
