Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jourdanton). Everything went their way against the Carrizo Springs Wildcats on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-1 win. The victory was nothing new for the Indians/Squaws as they're now sitting on four straight.
Jourdanton got a massive performance out of Bobbiejo Gonzales, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Gonzales a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Floyd, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs.
Jourdanton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Jourdanton pushed their record up to 11-13 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Carrizo Springs, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jourdanton will head out to square off against Randolph at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
