Basketball Game Preview: Nokomis Redskins vs. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats

Nokomis is 6-1 against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Nokomis Redskins will be playing at home against the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Nokomis' favor as the team sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

On Tuesday, Nokomis didn't have too much trouble with Brownstown as they won 54-36.

Kinley Stolte was a one-woman wrecking crew for Nokomis as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. That's the most rebounds Stolte has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alivia Sabol, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was not quite Sandoval's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blackhawks.

Nokomis is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.

Nokomis beat Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 56-43 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Ruby Stuckemeyer, who had 14 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for Nokomis to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
