Sterling had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-10 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the West Deptford Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Silver Knights have posted against the Eagles since May 19, 2023.

As for West Deptford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games.

For West Deptford's part, Jordyn Ambrosius spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. Ambrosius has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West Deptford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nina Viola, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
