Football Game Preview: University Prep Griffins vs. McQuaid Jesuit Knights

The University Prep Griffins will take on the McQuaid Jesuit Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. University Prep will be strutting in after a victory while McQuaid Jesuit will be coming in after a loss.

University Prep barely beat Penfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Griffins took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 46-14 win over the Patriots. The victory continues a trend for the Griffins in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, McQuaid Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 21-14 to Aquinas Institute. On the bright side, the 14- point effort marked the Knights' highest-scoring matchup to date.

McQuaid Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for University Prep, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

University Prep beat McQuaid Jesuit 44-36 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Griffins repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
