Basketball Recap: Priory Panthers vs. More Knights
Priory gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 88-70 win over the More Knights. The Panthers pushed the score to 83-50 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.
Leading Priory to victory were Balazs Nyikos and Jai Georedette. Nyikos dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 assists, while Georedette went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points plus five assists. Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Conrad Schaper, who went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points plus two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Corr, who posted ten points.
Priory will challenge Averroes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for More, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-49 victory against Waldorf on the 26th.
