Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] won the last time they faced Jackson Heights and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cyclones sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Cobras. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cyclones as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 18-25, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Jackson Heights still got an impressive performance from Layla Cochran, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Riverside [Wathena/Elwood]'s win bumped their record up to 6-11-1. As for Jackson Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
