Volleyball Game Preview: Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots vs. Poway Titans

Academy of Our Lady of Peace is 0-4 against Poway since September of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Pilots will take on the Titans at 3:15 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Mission Bay 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Pilots in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now won seven in a row.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace never let Mission Bay on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Poway was able to grind out a solid victory over Olympian on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace's record now sits at 6-3. As for Poway, their record is now 6-10.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace couldn't quite get it done against Poway in their previous meeting back in September of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Pilots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
