Soccer Game Preview: Pinkerton vs. Nashua South

The Pinkerton Astros will head out on the road to face off against the Nashua South Purple Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pinkerton has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Nashua South will arrive with 12 straight wins.

Pinkerton lost 5-1 to Dover on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Nashua South faced Bishop Guertin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Purple Panthers won by a goal and slipped past the Cardinals 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Nashua South were the better team in the second half.

Pinkerton's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-3. As for Nashua South, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0-1.

Pinkerton was able to grind out a solid win over Nashua South when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Astros since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
