Football Game Preview: El Capitan Vaqueros vs. Mount Miguel Matadors + How To Watch

The El Capitan Vaqueros will face off against the Mount Miguel Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Capitan is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, El Capitan had to suffer through a 42-6 loss at the hands of Granite Hills. While losing is never fun, the Vaqueros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Eagles are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mount Miguel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on October 10th. They walked away with a 28-21 win over Steele Canyon last Friday. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Matadors were the better team in the second half.

Mount Miguel found their leader in sophomore Jeremiah Holliday, who rushed for 83 yards and two scores. Andre Jackson was another key player, throwing for 188 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.2% of his passes.

Mount Miguel pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points over those games. As for El Capitan, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
