Basketball Game Preview: Richmond Oilers vs. Hercules Titans

Richmond is on a three-game streak of home losses, Hercules a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Richmond Oilers will host the Hercules Titans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Richmond is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against De Anza on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Richmond had to suffer through a 83-43 loss at the hands of De Anza. The Oilers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-19.

Meanwhile, Hercules ended up a good deal behind El Cerrito on Wednesday and lost 68-53. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 996th, while the Gauchos are ranked 487th).

Hercules' defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Richmond, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
