Soccer Recap: Maryville Takes a Loss

Maryville came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bearden Bulldogs, falling 4-0. The defeat continues a trend for Maryville in their meetings with Bearden: they've now lost five in a row.

Maryville's loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1. As for Bearden, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Maryville and Bearden should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Red Rebels (ranked 41st) will meet Alcoa (ranked 144th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bearden will face off against William Blount at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 178).
